WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE FAMILY DAY HOME AGENCY? It is our role as an agency to ensure that the standards and guidelines that have been set by Alberta Child and Youth Services, Region 3, and Davar, are met or exceeded by the childcare providers. Monthly in home support is provided to the provider through an agency representative – Child Development Consultant. Our agency works in partnership with providers, parents, and other service providers to support the well-being, diversity and inclusion of all children and their families. WHAT DOES THE FAMILY DAY HOME AGENCY OFFERS FAMILIES? Davar
ensures that the agency, and the provider are meeting the needs of the
child and their families. Families are able to access care that promotes
their child’s development and growth through a Learning through play
philosophy. Children are able to foster relationships with other
children and providers and their families in a low – Child –
Provider ratio. (1:6) WHAT DOES THE FAMILY DAY HOME AGENCY OFFER PROVIDERS? Our program allows for families to access quality childcare in a safe, secure, monitored home-like environment. We provide on going support to children, families, and provider – through a variety of mediums. Davar Family Day Home provides a variety of resources including: Supports To Early Childhood, Provincial Provider Training, Level I Certification training, Supported Child Care and Subsidy Programs through Calgary and Area CFSA Region 3. Support to Child Care Providers includes but is not limited to:
AS A PROVIDER HOW MANY CHILDREN CAN I CARE FOR IN MY HOME? Providers are able to provide childcare in there home to children ages 0 – 12 years of age. Providers can care for up to six (6) children in their home. Of those six (6) children only three (3) children under the age of three, of those three (3) under the age of 3 only two can be under the age of two (2). At the Child Development Center (CDC) we believe that every family and every child has the right to quality, meaningful child care. We believe that children learn best from each other; they learn empathy, forgiveness, conflict skills and sharing. This is best done when children have the opportunity to interact with other children and learn and understand about their experiences. We accept and promote the families right to include their child into programming designed to accommodate children of all developmental and physical ability.
