The Position of Child Development Consultant includes but is not limited to:
To be responsible for working as part of a Team dedicated to the recruiting and screening of day home Educators applications to maintain a full caseload 23 active Educators
To be responsible for the monitoring and support of Family Day Home Educators and promoting best outcomes, emergent curriculum for the children who they care for;
To be responsible for evaluation of qualifications and environmental suitability of the Educator and the home to maintain health & safety standards according to Provincial, Regional, Municipal regulations; and Early Learning and Care Services
To be responsible for matching families with an appropriate Educator to facilitate a stable placement
To be responsible for regular training, nurturing, supporting and consulting on a monthly basis or more often if required. i.e. FLIGHT, SCC, health and safety, Exemptions, first Aid; fire safety
To be responsible for child referral, if necessary to the appropriate agency i.e. SCC, screening tools, Ages and Stages
To facilitate problem solving and positive communication between Educator and Parents as required
To be responsive to the diverse needs of the children and families that we serve
To engage in ongoing monitoring and evaluation processes involving administrative staff, families, child care professionals and other stakeholders to support continuous quality improvement while meeting and exceeding existing standards of care.
Being accessible during regular working hours, answering calls and emails in a timely manner
Being able to work independently in an home office
Qualifications of Position include but are not limited to:
Alberta Level III Certification
FLIGHT Certification an asset /Child Mental Health Certification an asset
Current Driver’s License / a vehicle in good working condition Drivers abstract
Current First Aid Certificate / Current Child Welfare Check
Current Criminal Record Check (CRC)
Excellent organizational and computer skills / Typical work week 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Great sense of humour and willingness to learn and expand your knowledge and skill sets
